Indonesian Independence Day is the most anticipated event of August 2024. In honor of Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage, Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel is proud to host a Gebogan competition on August 15th, 2024, started at 5 PM at The Pond Restaurant. This event celebrates the traditional art of Balinese offerings, where participants created stunning arrangements of fruit, flowers and other items in beautifully decorated towers, known as “Gebogan”. The competition invites hotel staff and associates to showcase their creativity and craftsmanship in this cherished tradition. Participants were judged on creativity, originality and adherence to cultural customs, with winners receiving special prizes.
In addition, Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel also held a flag ceremony on August 17th, 2024 at 7.00 AM in the parking area. This was followed by celebrations at the Beach Gate, featuring a variety of traditional games for associates and management, including sack race, marble race, bakiak race, balloon dancing and cracker-eating contest.
